Pat sent us the following picture from the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in Mt. Vernon, Washington. She and Sharon got to view 350 acres of tulips in the field and in demonstration gardens. Apparently, the growing conditions and climate in this area is similar to that of Holland and tulips thrive.

The largest grower in the area, Roozengaarde, plants tens of thousands of tulips all by hand. They have over 100 varieties of tulips. Pat did not say how many of those 100 varieties that they brought hom
